For my "Fashion Digital Design Intensive" class, I designed a Spring and Fall collection, branding and planogram for the brand J.W. Anderson.

As a designer of both men and women’s wear, I am greatly inspired by JW Anderson, a London based designer who explores the idea of gender blending. Anderson’s clothes target cool, creative and contemporary individuals with an urban, high-end lifestyle. With this in mind, I wanted to design a Spring and Fall collection that would blend sophistication with futuristic design. I want people to be inspired by the freshness and uniqueness of my collections.

My Spring collection “Drifter” was heavily inspired by the Terry Gilliam film “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”. My Fall collection “A Glitch in Time” was inspired by mid-century culture and the prominence of futurism in the culture. Both collections were guided by trend research sourced from WGSN and images from Pinterest. To make my collection more appealing to people of various styles and demographics, I combined juxtaposing trends/aesthetics. This was evident in the color pallets, mood boards and patterns.

This project allowed me to learn and put into practice many photoshop and illustrator skills. Prior to this project I had a basic understanding of the programs, however, through this course I was able to learn more practical methods that will help me in the industry. The most challenging aspect of this project was designing with the brand and target customer in mind, while also trying to be innovative and true to my own design aesthetic.

Overall this project adds a technical design skillset to my portfolio and has given me the technical skills to successfully depict my creative process.
